Our mission is to prepare horses and riders for successful interactions during challenging situations, through effective and safe training techniques.
What does the horse mean to you? To many, the horse is symbol of freedom, and the epitome of strength, beauty, and grace. To some, a horse is an admired pet. To others, he is a skilled athlete, and a partner in elegant dance. To the history of Mankind, the Equine species is exponentially more than a pet or an athlete. The horse has been laborer, transportation, and warrior. Horses settled the West. They carved our highways, carried our soldiers, and our cities were built on their backs. They delivered our mail, mined our coal and ores, logged our timber, plowed our fields, and kept watch over our livestock herds. For thousands of years, horses have humbly and diligently served mankind on every continent. But in this century of rapid technological advancement, in the short span of just a 100 years, the horse is losing its rightful place among us and slipping quietly into hindsight.
I believe that it is our duty to preserve the species, and to give them a new purpose in our ever-changing world. But even as much as preservation, it is our obligation to honor them, and give back to them what they gave to us; opportunity, success, community, and health, in a new age where they have become a luxury instead of a necessity.
If you have experienced the blessing of knowing a horse, you will agree that they offer an abundance more than their strength and work ethic. They instill courage, and lend exuberance just as well as tranquility. Horses carry us through the thrilling high's and shattering low's of our lives. To them, each day is a blank slate, a new beginning, the past not forgotten, but rather, released.
When we meet with them in the round pen or in the saddle, we must also release the past, and ground ourselves in the moments we share. Therefore, providing our burdened hearts and minds a new sort of freedom - when we join with a horse, we are gifted the present moment. All else falls away. Words are abandoned, and an intertwining of energy commences. What energy do you present to your horse?
